HANDS-ON

HANDS-ON is a piece I created about sexual assault.  I took the statistics on how many men and women in the United States are affected by sexual assault; one in every six women are affected, and one in every ten men are affected.  Based on these statistics, I painted the sleeves of 16 of the 100 hands to represent the 1 in 6 women affected.  I also painted the sleeves of 10 of the 100 hands to represent the 1 in 10 men affected by sexual assault.  The hands trail around the body in the areas that are mots commonly sexualized and touched without consent.  The outfit is revealing to demonstrate that no matter how a person looks, they never deserve it. 2017.
