the phrase “it won’t happen again” has become all too familiar to me. as a victim of sexual assault, using my own body felt necessary to depict such a heavy topic. i’ve experienced unwanted sexual conduct from two separate individuals on several occasions, and have since created many works about it in order to work through the memories. this series provides the visualization of the events both leading up to and later following with the effects of sexual assault. 2018.
